GeoDynamics
Research S.r.l., the leader in low frequency passive seismic spectroscopy, holds
all patents for the GeoSpectra IPDS® technology. Together with GeoDynamics
Worldwide S.r.l., their global operations subsidiary, they offer RGR a unique partnership.
This enables RGR to employ GeoSpectra IPDS® as a decision tool for investments
in exploration projects of previously undetected reservoirs on already
developed North American oilfields.
After being pre-selected by RGR, projects are evaluated together with GeoDynamics Worldwide S.r.l. under the direction of a globally renowned geologist who is also one of the co-developers of the GeoSpectra IPDS® technology. During these evaluations all the data provided by prospective partners (seismic data, well logs, etc.) is used to find the most efficient strategy for applying GeoSpectra IPDS® for each individual project, with the aim of accurately determining existence, size and position of any hydrocarbon deposits and finding optimal drilling positions. These thorough pre-screenings allow RGR to make preliminary profitability calculations, after which the decision is made if RGR deploys GeoSpectra IPDS® at its own expense.
Field operations are then carried out by GeoDynamics Worldwide S.r.l.. A single team can take readings from an area ranging from 250 – 1500 acres per day. This data is then passed on to the scientists at GeoDynamics Research S.r.l. at their headquarters in Rovereto, Italy where they are analyzed using proprietary methods. After data processing has been completed GeoDynamics Worldwide S.r.l. uses the results to produce a final report which contains all the key information necessary for RGR to decide whether to proceed further with their investment and finance the exploitation of any hydrocarbon deposits found.
GeoDynamics Research S.r.l. is a subsidiary of Finanziaria Italiana per lo Sviluppo Industriale (F.I.S.I.) S.p.A. F.I.S.I. is a private Italian energy conglomerate with europe-wide operations. Owning and operating more than 20 hydroelectric plants in Italy, they are one of the country’s leading energy providers. They also invest in geothermal energy projects, natural gas transportation services and provide venture capital for emerging energy technologies.
